5 Things You Need to Know Before You Write Your Book

Writing a book is something that is on everyone’s to-do list. It’s like instant credibility when you have an book on your website or on Amazon. But before you get writing, there are 5 things you need to know:

1. Know who you are writing for

Who is your ideal reader? What are they struggling with? What solutions do you offer for their problems? Get to know the answers to these questions in detail so you don’t waste your time writing something no one wants. (but be sure to write your heart out!)

2. What do your people want?

It’s so easy to write for what we think people want, but then when we put it out into the world and hear crickets, it can be so disheartening. A way to avoid that is to simply ask what they want! Find where your client hangs out and ask them what information they want to know!

3. Keep it simple

Are you writing your book as a freebie/opt-in? Or are you writing it to be published on Amazon? These are 2 very different things. If you are writing it just to be a freebie, then keep it short with a maximum of about 10 pages. Otherwise people just won’t read it. Obviously, keep it packed with value, but keep it short! However, if you are publishing it on Amazon, the sky is the limit!

4. You need to be confident in what you offer

If you don’t think people will get value out of it, then people won’t. What you offer is immensely valuable, but you have to see it too! Work on your impostor syndrome issues with EFT in order to see that you offer tons of value!

5. You have to tell people about it!

This one sounds like a no brainer, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people publish this awesome e-book (myself included!) and then get super bummed that no one wants it! You have to tell people about it before you start writing in order to drum up some buzz!
